Shopping vouchers for people in Freudental · 2024
Under the motto "Being strong for others," the BRUKER Foundation has been supporting people in Freudental who have to manage on a tight budget for several years. Hans-Peter and Karin Bruker, together with Regina Hirsch and Mayor Alexander Fleig, presented Penny supermarket vouchers to the municipality. The Ludwigsburg District Office distributes the vouchers to families, pensioners, the chronically ill, and refugees. Young families and the Freudental Volunteer Fire Department also receive vouchers as a token of gratitude and appreciation.

Regional President Johannes Schmalzl presented Karin and Hans-Peter Bruker with the foundation charter. The BRUKER Foundation has been legally recognized since June 2015. This merged the two trust foundations, which had existed since 2007, into a single charitable foundation. The District President praised the foundation's broad scope, which serves "the common good in a special way." Karin Bruker described the moment as "a feeling like growing up." Members of the foundation's board of trustees were also present at the presentation, including Dr. Markus Beckers, Mayor Jürgen Kessing, and Deputy Mayor Alexander Fleig.

For their extraordinary commitment, the municipality of Freudental awarded Karin and Hans-Peter Bruker the Freudental Citizen's Medal. Mayor Alexander Fleig presented the award at a small ceremony. In his laudatory speech, he praised projects such as alternative school sports, learning therapy, and "First Responders on Site," which has become a model project extending beyond the district borders. Thanks to the foundation, Freudental's kindergartens, the primary school, and many clubs were also able to make purchases that would otherwise have been impossible. Fire Chief Alexander Weidhaus and Andreas Büdenbender from the Freudental Volleyball Club expressed their gratitude for the support.
